CWTSH productions proudly presents a film about W.H.Davies

As part of  its First Friday sessions the Cwtsh will be showing the acclaimed Tom and Monty Dart film on the eventful life and work of W.H. Davies, Newport's very own 'Tramp Poet' and the man responsible for some of the most quoted lines in the English language:

"What life is this if full of care

We have no time to stand and stare."

Born in Pill and raised in the Church House pub,  Davies lost his right foot in a train accident whilst working his way across America and Canada as a tramp. His leg was later amputated below the knee and he wore a wooden leg from then on. He eventually returned to Britain and, after many trials and tribulations, succeeded in becoming established as a respected poet and prose writer. The film will be shown on  Friday, April 7th, 2017 at Cwtsh and will be followed by a Question and Answer session.  Starts 7.30 pm, admission £3-00. This is a Cwtsh fundraiser and a licensed bar will be available.
